If we don’t care, who will?
…a stack of photos at a flea market near Wiesbaden and I am deep in the research of the Family of Eugen von Hippel, a reknown German ophthalmologist and professor in Heidelberg and Göttignen, his wife Gertrud von Hippel geb. Winkelmann, her children and their grandfather Artur von Hippel, also a well-known German ophthalmologist.
Some of the photos have already been uploaded to the WikiTree Profile für Eugen von Hippel and other members of his Family. Others I will post on my blog. Maybe this will help identifying some of the unknown persons in the pictures. For me, they were just a very intersting time travel into the past of a piece of German academic history. They have no relations to my family history…but I could not leave them on the flea market table … If we don’t care, who will?
If there are decendants or others with a legitimate interest in the pictures, I am happy to leave them with them.
